did you set the receiver to a frequency 1.9 KHz lower as the listed frequency?
Example Halifax listed 10536 KHz, set your receiver to 10534,1 KHz (SSB Upper Side Band USB).

: I am a neophite to HF-fax and can't seem to make it work. I'm using Meteo on my laptop. The cable is mono from the earphone out on radio to mike in on pc. I've checked the computer settings and they seem right. Radio is set to SSB and tuned to Boston or Halifax. I have not been able to even find the signal. The frequencies are not in the described SW bands, manual is of limited help. I assume that the wire antenna supplied is the correct one to use. I have taken TZ and daylight savings into account. What am I doing wrong?
